Transform your skin with personalised, medical-grade skincare solutions.
AlumierMD & Medical-Grade Skincare in Wimborne, Dorset
Healthy skin starts with what you do every day.
At Pro Skin Medical Aesthetics in Wimborne, Dorset, we create personalised medical-grade skincare programmes for patients from Wimborne, Poole, Bournemouth and the surrounding areas.
Whilst professional treatments can accelerate results, the products you use at home every day play an important role in improving your skin health, maintaining treatment results and helping to prevent future concerns.
We have access to a range of professional and medical-grade skincare brands, allowing us to select products according to your individual skin rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
The range we use most frequently within the clinic is AlumierMD, due to its advanced formulations, evidence-based ingredients and the consistent results we see in our patients.
Whether your concerns include ageing, pigmentation, acne, rosacea, sensitivity, dehydration or simply maintaining healthy skin, we can create a personalised skincare programme specifically for you.
Why Use Medical-Grade Skincare?
The right skincare programme can make a significant difference to the health and appearance of your skin.
Rather than simply treating what we can see on the surface, our aim is to improve the overall health and function of your skin and create the best possible foundation for any professional treatments you may choose to have.
Depending on your individual concerns, your skincare programme may help to:
- Strengthen and support your skin barrier
- Improve hydration and skin resilience
- Reduce inflammation and sensitivity
- Manage acne and congestion
- Improve pigmentation and uneven skin tone
- Support collagen production and healthy ageing
- Improve skin texture and luminosity
- Protect against environmental and UV damage
- Prepare your skin for professional treatments
- Enhance and maintain the results of your in-clinic treatments
In some cases, improving your skincare routine can make a considerable difference before more advanced treatments are even required.
AlumierMD Skincare
AlumierMD is the medical-grade skincare range we use most frequently at Pro Skin Medical Aesthetics.
The range allows us to create personalised routines using carefully selected cleansers, antioxidants, hydrators, retinoids, exfoliating products, targeted serums and broad-spectrum sun protection.
However, more products don’t necessarily mean better results.
Introducing too many active ingredients, using products that are unsuitable for your skin or combining ingredients incorrectly can cause irritation and compromise the skin barrier.
This is why we prefer to assess your skin first and introduce products gradually, according to what your skin actually needs.
Skincare for Sensitive, Reactive & Rosacea-Prone Skin
If your skin is sensitive, reactive or prone to rosacea, the first priority is often not adding more active ingredients.
We frequently see patients who have unintentionally compromised their skin barrier through over-cleansing, excessive exfoliation or using too many active products.
In these circumstances, we may initially simplify your routine and concentrate on:
- Gentle cleansing
- Hydration
- Barrier repair
- Reducing potential irritants
- Daily SPF protection
Once your skin is calmer, stronger and more resilient, we can gradually introduce additional active ingredients where appropriate.
Skincare for Ageing Skin
Healthy ageing involves much more than treating individual lines and wrinkles.
As we age, changes occur in hydration, collagen and elastin production, pigmentation, skin thickness and the skin’s ability to repair itself.
A personalised skincare programme can therefore form an important part of your wider rejuvenation journey.
Depending on your skin, this may include antioxidants, retinoids, peptides, hydration, pigmentation management and daily UV protection.
Where appropriate, skincare can then be combined with professional collagen-stimulating and rejuvenation treatments to address the different components of facial ageing.
Skincare for Pigmentation
Not all pigmentation is the same.
Sun damage, post-inflammatory pigmentation, hormonal pigmentation and other pigmentary changes can require different approaches.
During your consultation, we assess the appearance and distribution of pigmentation alongside your wider skin health before recommending an appropriate homecare programme.
Daily broad-spectrum SPF is particularly important when managing pigmentation, alongside carefully selected active ingredients where appropriate.
Skincare for Acne & Congestion
Acne-prone or congested skin doesn’t always benefit from aggressive cleansing and exfoliation.
In fact, excessive use of acids, scrubs and harsh cleansers can sometimes leave the skin irritated and its barrier compromised.
Our approach is to assess your skin first and create a programme that addresses congestion whilst also supporting healthy skin function.
Where appropriate, professional treatments can then be incorporated into your longer-term plan.
Professional Chemical Peels
Medical-grade skincare can also be complemented by professional chemical peels.
At Pro Skin Medical Aesthetics, we offer customised chemical peels rather than using the same peel for every patient.
We work with professional peel systems including AlumierMD, alongside other professional ranges, allowing us to select the most appropriate treatment according to your skin condition, concerns and goals.
Chemical peels may be used as part of a programme to improve concerns including:
- Dull or rough skin
- Congestion
- Acne-prone skin
- Uneven pigmentation
- Skin texture
- Signs of ageing
Your skin will always be assessed before recommending a peel, and appropriate homecare may be advised to prepare your skin and support your results.
Already Using AlumierMD?
If you already use AlumierMD and know which products you require, you can order directly through our AlumierMD online store.
If you’re considering changing your products, introducing stronger active ingredients or your skin has changed since your previous assessment, we recommend having your skincare reviewed first.
Looking for AlumierMD in Wimborne, Poole or Bournemouth?
Pro Skin Medical Aesthetics is based in Wimborne, Dorset, and we regularly welcome patients from Poole, Bournemouth and the surrounding areas.
If you’re new to AlumierMD or medical-grade skincare, we don’t recommend simply choosing products based on what is popular online or what works for somebody else’s skin.
Your skin is individual, and your skincare should be too.
Start With a Pro Skin Method Consultation
If you want to get the best from your skincare, we recommend starting with a Pro Skin Method Consultation.
During this 60-minute consultation, we take the time to properly assess your skin rather than simply recommending products.
We will:
- Discuss your main skin concerns and goals
- Review your current skincare routine
- Assess your skin health and barrier function
- Look at factors such as hydration, inflammation, pigmentation, congestion and signs of ageing
- Discuss relevant lifestyle factors that may be affecting your skin
- Identify which products and active ingredients are appropriate for you
- Create a personalised morning and evening skincare routine
- Explain how and when to introduce new products
- Discuss professional treatments where they may benefit your skin
- Create a longer-term plan for improving and maintaining your skin health
The aim isn’t to send you home with the most complicated routine.
It’s to give you a better understanding of your skin and a programme that is appropriate, achievable and designed around your individual needs.
